So we celebrated Ashley’s birthday Friday evening on Mass Ave. Before heading out, we finally got the chance to present Alex with his signed Andrew Bird poster. He was more excited than we could have hoped.
Joining us for the night was Ashley (obviously), Ry, Amy, Alex, Liz, Eric, Adam, & Gary.
We had dinner at Agio which was delicious but expensive. We walked there so it was hard to let them throw away my leftovers. I was disappointed to find out that this place with pink neon lighting was a nice italian place and not some weird strip club with pink flamingos like I’d always suspected(hoped). However, I thought our waiter was a woman until he spoke. His name was Esteban. I somehow held a straight face.
From there we walked to MacNiven’s and got the buzz going. I’d tried to “cute up” for the night. It got me nowhere especially since I spent half my night buried in my phone texting a friend. Disgraceful. We ended the night at Old Point, which is always nice. I did really want to check out the Rathskellar though. Maybe another time. It was a really fun night though. Our group gets along so well. We ran in to Mitch & Rick and their friends at Old Point near the end of the night. Good times.
Last night I got bored so I started flipping through old scrapbooks my mom had made for me when I graduated from college. Came across a photo of this guy John who I’d dated for awhile but he had disappeared off the face of the earth for the last year and a half or so, completely lost touch with his best friend of 8 years or so. Well, I decided to call him and he answered. We had a lovely chat. Seems he took off to Boston for awhile, getting some things in his life straightened out. He may be coming to my next comedy show. It’ll be nice to see him.
So that was my big event for the weekend. Bigger plans for the coming weekend. Mason Proper is coming to town Friday night and hopefully, I’m hitching a ride to Charleston, IL for a comedy show Saturday night. And, I might try mystic tanning to see what I look like with skin color. I’m curious.
