All in all, it was a pretty good day. I went to Blockbuster to get a movie, and it was completely my lucky day. The first movie I saw was “Following” on DVD! They’ve always only had VHS, so I had given up on ever seeing it. The guy that checked me (well, the movie) out was a trainee. It was clearly his first day. Stalker boy (the one that my brother and ex swear checks me out every time) came over to “help” him. Clearly, he was trying to impress me. haha right.

Well, on the way back I witnessed a very stupid thing. This lady in a minivan was stopped in front of me at a red light. Cars were flooding in front of us, turning left. So, our light turned green but there were clearly 2 more cars right in front of us. What does she do? Accelerates!! I just threw my hands up. She stopped inches from the turning cars. Why do people have to be so mechanical about things?? Green = go no matter what. Seriously, the cars were directly in front of her. It’s not like they were just starting to turn. I’m very glad she got stopped or there may have been a lot of us in not so good health right now.

Then I stopped at Marsh. It was my record day. I saved $20 on my purchases, a whopping 28% of the total, a new personal record (previous 25%). Read it and weep. I’m a crazy savin’ machine.

BUT she (Karlie) is the biggest news of the day. I’ve been exploring petfinder.com all day looking at dogs in all the surrounding animal shelters. I need a reliable companion, and I want to save the world, so adopting a dog was a good solution. So many wonderful dogs. A beagle named Daisy was my pick until I found Karlie. I just filled out the 4-page application, and I’m faxing it tomorrow. She’s only 10 lbs., a papillon/sheltie mix, and she’s adorable, but the lady said she’s already received several applications. Therefore, I took their html form into Photoshop and typed it. I have to make an impression! I had to provide 2 unrelated references and everything. That was the hardest part :) So anyway, I don’t know when I’ll hear a response, but I’m very, very excited!! I love animals.

I also went for my very first non-PE run yesterday. I have major shin splits today. My shoes for tomorrow will certainly kill me, since I was wincing just walking through Marsh. It was very liberating to run, though. Of course, you know me, I didn’t pace myself with a jog, I went straight for full speed. Had an excruciating pain not developed in my side, I could have run like that for hours. For 2 minutes there, I was like a horse in an open field. I’m hoping I’ll have a four-legged friend to accompany me soon.
