It’s been an eventful day. I got a bit more stuff packed. I spent some time browsing jobs, but much more time looking for apartments. I’ve been apartment hunting in San Fran for over a year now. Ridiculous, I know. I should outsource my services to someone who is actually moving there. I did find some more lovely furnished places in case I’m forced to move out there without a job.

Okay, now to the interesting news. You may have noticed a lovely upgrade to the commenting section. I learned AJAX this afternoon, so I thought this feature would be a nice execution of my new found knowledge. Maybe some of you will comment now that I’ve made it so much more incredibly user-friendly. :) hint, hint. I was pleasantly surprised to realize how well I understand JS now, after my dabbling in AS. Seems learning Flash wasn’t a complete waste.

Also, I’m going to SXSW, sadly not for the music. Rachel claims it will be a networking hullaboo with San Francisan’s for me to bribe in to taking me back to CA with them :) Seriously, I should hopefully be able to find out about some more opportunities. I hope something comes of it. I’ve been unemployed for a month (as of tomorrow), so this trip to Austin is a costly risk. I have faith. At a minimum, it’ll be nice to spend time with Rach (it’s been ages) and I should learn a thing or two.

Even more exciting, though, is that I shall be utilizing CouchSurfing.com for one night of accommodations. The girl I found seems super nice. It’s such a great project. I’ve been signed up for almost a year, so I’m thrilled to finally be able to take advantage of it. Frugality sure does force me over some social barriers.

Well, goodness, it’s nearly midnight already. This day sure has flown. Despite the grief it sometimes give me, I have to admit web programming sure does pass the time with incredible ease.
