9 Degrees & Psychic Tendencies

I drove home to watch my mom sing in this cantata. It was 14 degrees driving there. Brr. Snippy was being difficult during the drive, which is unlike her. I got home just in time to drop her off and speed like a madwoman (hehe) to the church. Every year, even when I live close, I’m the last one there. I walk in and the choir’s all like “Hi Mindy”. I sit down and they start walking in & singing. They know to wait I guess. But yeah, the rest of my family was home on their asses. 5 damn minutes away. I drove over an hour to come watch the hour-long event.
I sat with John (my 2-day b/f) and his mom. She is the jolliest woman I’ve ever met. Seriously, you look at her and think “jolly”, down to the rosy cheeks. But yeah, I struggled to stay awake, because it was clearly a cantata designed for black (or really spirited white people) people and though they tried, all the white townsfolk weren’t quite pulling it off. I wanted to stand up and scream “I’m not feelin’ it people!” The one girl I graduated with who sang in a gospel choir at college, rocked. If she’d sung the whole thing it would have been awesome.
I swear I almost started laughing out loud at one point though because the narrator said something that was completely off one of those singles commercials. I talked to mom for a bit afterward and told her it’s probably down to 9 degrees now. Ha sure enough, the same bank that I read the temp on the way there, now said exactly 9 on my way back. I’ve been psychic today. I started thinking of the most random song in the shower today, Tammy Wynette’s Stand by your Man. I got out of the shower and it started playing on my computer. I had it on full random. WTF. Then I flipped past football on the radio coming back to West Lafayette, and seriously wondered if Johnny were watching the game. I got home. He started chatting with me and said, “well I’m going to go watch the colts game” WTF WTF. You can’t appreciate the randomness of that unless you see him. In no way did he strike me as a sports fan.
In any case, I’m paying my sis to clean my house, buy groceries, and run other misc tasks for me tomorrow. I’m so damn busy. 120+ hours in 2 weeks. Insane. I’ve been napping half the weekend trying to catch up on sleep.
Oh yeah, and I got another job lead from my DA site this weekend. Some guy starting a company in NY. I may be their graphic designer for projects.
