28 Rounds of Good Times

I’ve had an amazing birthday.
Shared many laughs with Amy, made Chicken Tikka Masala, and watched Lost last night. Woke up to tons of Facebook wall posts. Watched the Party in the USA video 3x (I’m afraid I actually like this song now). Filled my strawberry craving with strawberry-frosted mini wheat cereal. Got a call from my sis. Had a cute boy sitting next to me all the way to work. Watched a hilarious scene play out at the bus stop, where they had posted a sign “bus stop moved 150 feet,” which left a bunch of really old asian people who get on there every morning super confused because it looked like the bus left them. So, when the bus stopped halfway up the block, the driver yelled for them to come and people waved at them out the window. Like a slow motion scene, they scooted alongside the bus one-by-one, still obviously confused since they were waving their bus passes in the air. It took so long for them to walk that some people just got off the bus. Everyone was cracking up at the spectacle of the lady trying to explain the new bus stop location but them not completely understanding and thinking she was kicking them off. It was a catastrophic language barrier breakdown and none of us could do anything but motion them on the bus. Finally got to work where Ryan handed me a birthday mix CD which was the coolest thing ever (playlist below). He, Kali, & Tim joined me for lunch at South Park, but it was so warm & beautiful that we took our lunch to the roof. It somehow turned in to quite an adventure getting to that point though. I felt like I was parading my chosen ones around the office. We had some good laughs and Kali pulled out a surprise dessert, some flan she picked up at the mexican place, and they sang me happy birthday. It was totally embarrassing but super cool. Got back to my desk to a hilariously perfect card from Tyler and lots more Facebook warm wishes. Had a productive remaining afternoon at work and got a positive shout out from a Nike client on a conference call. And tonight I get to dine on more of my delicious Indian food and enjoy my favorite guilty pleasure, “Greek”, as well as “House”.
Really, the only downside I can find to today is that I ate all my chocolate cake last night so I won’t have any dessert…that was an oversight.
After skipping over my birthday entirely last year, today felt even more special. I hope I don’t forget what a great excuse it is to have a fun day with cool people.
Party in the USA
These boys crack me up to no end. Jon’s face at around 1:30 kills me every time. Each time I watch it I see something new to crack up about.

It’s not my typical style at all but it made my morning all poppy & cheery, much like a 10-year-old usually feels on their birthday which is how old I was when this kind of music was really in the first time heh.
