SF Summer Fun

Tidbits from the fun in SF this July: horseback riding, fairs, movies & concerts

Dear Tina

An evening with Tina Fey at Orpheum Theatre.

Cosby, Rothko, & Mozart

Sort of a downer birthday, but it was surrounded by some incredible experiences: Bill Cosby & Mozart’s Requiem.

Comedy Comeback, SF Style

Comedy comeback and retirement.

Waterfalls, Moving Pictures, & Sweet Dates

January didn’t leave me anytime to think about missing Indy. Trips to the symphony, museums, films, and outdoor adventures provided amazing distractions.

Warped Tour

Unplanned trip down to Mountain View for my first Warped Tour.

Evolutions: Work, Home, & Play

Finally doing some editing work at the office. Picked up some new furniture and documented the evolution of the apartment. Quick notes on weekend outings with Kurt to North Beach Festival and Jeremiah to Faust.

Symphony + Horse Racing

Strange mix of weekend events with a night at the symphony followed by an afternoon at the horse track.

Bookends

Recap of two weekends that were bookends of a kind of crap week. Two 3D movies, bachelorette party, symphony, and bike buying.

The Planets

Some pre-birthday/vday entertainment involving Nightlife and a trip to the symphony.

A Night with Noir

Spent an amazing evening at the Noir City Film Festival enjoying a double feature of “The Mob” and the premiere of the restored 32 mm version of “Cry Danger”.

This is Radio

An evening with Ira Glass at Berkeley and the first taste of Summer Summer Thai Eatery in Emeryville.

Refresh

Sometimes derailments take us to better places. This week had so many atypically good things that it warranted a 7-page essay.

Team AKQA & New Site

I finally made it down to Pier 27 to see Team AKQA play some soccer. It was a great time and we closed down the night at Pier 23, a bar down the way.

First Day at the Ballpark

The month of hanging out with strangers. New stranger, new venue. AT&T Park for an afternoon of baseball.
