"...cellar door is 'beautiful'... More beautiful than, say, sky, and far more beautiful than beautiful."
~ J.R.R. Tolkien
I have entirely too many thoughts passing thru my mind on a daily basis, and this quaint little place helps me track the random details of my life, from silly stories to my thoughts on current events to the music I enjoy.
I enjoy giving overly detailed accounts of my life. You may not care, but the day has already come where I've thanked myself. "On this Day" is certainly my favorite blog feature.
Diary of a Madwoman began as a little daily AIM profile in 2002. I got a small cult that found my day-to-day life interesting, so it evolved to a diaryland.com account. One fine day in 2003, I set out to build my own blog system [current]. It's nothing fancy, but it's holding up pretty well with some upgrades here & there.
Currently, Classic ASP & SQL Server 2000. *New* Now spiced with a bit of AJAX-action. RSS feed available. Use FireFox to access it. To my knowledge, the site is cross-browser friendly. (My stats tell me none of you use IE anyway :) However, it is standards-compliant [aside from some html in posts].
Discovering 1976design.com and maniacalrage.net made me ask more of my blog. I have no intentions of stealing their ideas, but they definitely raise the bar for what I aim to create. Though the blog exists mainly for myself, I would be horrible about using it were it not for the visitors.
Last time I updated this blurb, I was a recent graduate. Well, several years later...I'm a web developer/writer/photographer/whatever I'm feeling that day. I dabble in stand-up comedy when the urge strikes.
I grew up on a farm in rural Indiana. I once saved the life of a few piglets. I was a 4-H freak and band geek. I love visiting home and taking the 4-wheeler around the county for a photo adventure. I'm minorly obsessed with discovering great music and movies. I love baking!
